Squale Sub-39 Blue

The Squale Sub-39 dive watch is inspired by the first model that Charles von Büren created in Neuchâtel, Switzerland with the Squale logo and is designed to pay homage to the first iconic models created by Squale over 60 years ago. It also symbolizes the profound bond of friendship between the two families who are behind Squale's history of success - the founding Von Büren family and the current driving force - the Maggi family. This iconic watch is a blend of tradition and innovation and once again highlights Squale's true soul - the professional dive watch.

An elegant and classic vintage styled 300 meter dive watch with the characteristic and famous "von Büren" case. A watch case that was part of many famous dive-watches over the decades, as Squale also supplied these to other big and small Swiss brands. A recognition of the sheer quality of engineering and timeless design by Squale founder: Charles von Büren.

This classic diver has a screw-in case back, and a polished 316L stainless steel case with dimesions of 39mm x 12mm. The short lug to lug dimension of 48.5mm as well as curved down lug ends ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist. Despite the high water resistance rating of 300 meters the case has been kept to a slim 12mm thanks to the unique case construction.

This highly recognizable shape features a large signed screw-down crown at the 3 o´clock position which is easy to grip and screws in and out very smoothly. The hand-painted sunburst blue dial with the distinctly designed luminescent markers of old radium Superluminova that glow green in the dark provides excellent legibility in all lighting conditions.

The 120-click uni-directional bezel features a distinctive crystal glass insert for a true vintage look. Whilst the design of the scratch-resistant box shaped sapphire crystal also remains true to the original characteristics of the plexiglass used back in the 60's. The sapphire crystal is also enhanced with anti-reflective treatment and protects this timepiece up to 300 meters below sea-level or 30 atmosphere of pressure.

The Squale Sub-39 is powered by a Swiss made Sellita SW 200 "REGLAGE ELABORÉ" automatic movement which provides mechanical reliability and accuracy under the toughest circumstances. It has a quickset date funcion and displays the date at the 3 o'clock position.

The distinctive strap is another key element of the Sub-39. It is made in Italy with two tones of smokey blue leather to match the dial, producing a perfect harmony between these two essential components.

Despite big groups prevailing today in the watch industry this special edition model demonstrates that Squale has not lost its identity and continues on with its core values - to produce reliable, superbly designed and elegant professional dive watches for users with the highest demands.
